Re: IR032: Counter reading smaller than previous doc.

  • You are talking about Spread-sheet upload.
  • Also you've confirmed that you are attempting to enter the value which is in fact the Difference of Present counter reading and last ounter reading into the Counter reading field, in which case the error IR032 is inevitable.
  • You said it accepts the reading later, which indicates that the BDC program is developed in such a manner that when this particular error encounters the reading is being shifted to Difference field and the document is saved.

Few things you need to know

  • In your case IT IS WRONG TO ENTER THE READING INTO THE COUNTER READING but you are supposed to ENTER THE READING IN DIFFERENCE FILED.
  • Had you been creating a manual document IK11, then the document wouldn't be saved when the RUNNING HOURS value is entered into the Counter reading field.

Inputs so far suggest that your Measuring document upload program itself is not proper. But I still feel that proper communication is not there yet.

I'm sorry but I am going to have to disagree with your assessment. This template has been working for several departments for the past two years. We do not deal with the difference between the readings, we don't have access to that number. It is always entered as a current counter reading as is shown on the hour meter when read (what the program does with it is beyond me).

All equipment hours are entered the same, this is the only one giving us an issue.

Attached is snip of the upload fields.

It is natural to disagree with the assessment, because it was wrong as a result of communication so far received. Now a new information comes that you read the Hour meter, means you are supposed to enter in the Counter reading field, if the Hour meter is not reset every week after the reading. One thing is system can not be wrong in throwing this error. System throws this error when you enter a reading less than previous counter reading into the Counter reading. It is now you to investigate what changes have happened in this years long practice of upload of this excel field etc.

Looking at your upload sheet it looks OK, but the development of present error hints at possible changes in this upload sheet. You need to investigate yourself. Only hint is System can not be wrong.

Your ABAPer through Debugging can arrive at the reason within no time by viewing at he real value passing to the Counter reading field at runtime,

Another option is: You run the upload program in the All screen mode (Foreground) and see what value in Counter reading field is causing this error. whether it is the same value from the upload sheet or changed value, if changing why it is?

Re: preventive maintenance plans

Hi Rajasekhar,

You can use multi counter plans for this. Use one of the counter as month (for which you do not need a measurement point), second counter should be working hour, for second counter you would need a measurement point of type counter.

Than create maintenacne plans that has only one cycle and add equipment and task list details at the item level.

Hi Joel

This is a strange one. I am sure you have already checked with OSS but just in case, I have found two OSS notes although they are either old or about an issue caused by takeover/handover:

1133810 - ToHo: Counter reading smaller than in previous document

848399 - Measurement docs: Problems after you implement Note 806624

Has there been any counter replacements before? (There is a specific process for counter replacements: Representing Counter Replacement - Customer Service (CS) - SAP Library )

Although I am not able to logically come to a conclusion on how and why counter replacements could cause such an issue. Might be someone who prepares the excel spreadsheet converted the differences into total counter readings and if the new replaced counter had already higher readings then the previous one...

Strange... Please update the thread if you find a solution for the benefit of everyone who might have the same issue in the future.

Cheers

Savas

MCI8 Report Returns Zero Costs Due to Fiscal Year Variant Settings

$

Hi,

We are currently checking the behavior of Cost Analysis Report (t-code MCI8) on how costs are reported for each period. Our main issue here is why there are no costs reported for certain periods and why there is a material cost increase in the month following the zero cost periods; in our client's case - zero costs in April and July 2015 and a significant cost increase in May and August 2015.

The initial investigation is that this is due to the client's fiscal year variant set-up. Their FY starts in July and ends in June and also follows the 5-4-4 weeks and month-end always fall on Friday. With this set-up, April & July 2015 periods started on 03/28/15 and 06/27/15, respectively. Since start dates of both periods started in their previous months, costs in April & July 2015 will be reported in their previous months as well (i.e., April & July 2015 costs will be reported in 03-2015 and 06-2015 periods, and zero costs in 04-2015 and 07-2015)

We tried to replicate the issue based n the analysis above but we are also getting Planned Costs reported in periods 09-2015, 12-2015 and 03-2016. (We used April and July 2015 Basic Start Dates for work orders & operations). Also, Actual Costs with posting dates 01/19/16 & 01/26/16 are reported in 12-2015.

Can any of you provide us the reference date used by the system to determine the period in which the Planned & Actual Costs will be posted in PM-IS? This will also help us understand why May & August 2015 have significant cost increase as opposed to the explanation that its should be March and June 2015 which should contain the April and July 2015 costs.

Thank you.

Regards,

Nelle

These Unit of measures are already available in system. If you want to create specific unit of measures, then use Tcode CUNI.

Re: Restrict end user to change confirmed operations text in a work order

Hi,

I saw this thread earlier but my requirement is little bit different. I don't want to stop user adding operations and changing text based on order  header, user or system status.

Thanks for your inputs!

I double checked the dates, they are all correct.

As this is still allowing the equipment hours to be uploaded (even with the error it does go through), I am not planning on contacting our development consultants.

I realize this is probably where the issue is, but it is not a cost effective use of my time.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

Ok Joel,

I suggest you to contact your consultant, since counters and measurement document is an high priority issue.

Since this can affect equipments safety due to incorrect posting of documents.

Rather than delaying, let the consultants work on these things... applying a note will not have much impact.

Anyway, if you feel this thread provided you sufficient information, i request you to close this thread as answered or assumed answered

Re: Transactional Fiori Apps for EAM

Faisal,

FIORI Factsheets are view only apps. SAP should be running on HANA to use these apps.

These apps display contextual information and key facts about central objects used in your business operations.

From a fact sheet area (tile), you can drill down into its details. You can navigate from one fact sheet to its related fact sheets. For example, you can navigate from a document to the related business partner or to the master data.

Fact sheets run only on an SAP HANA database and require an ABAP stack

Thanks,

Subba

As I mentioned earlier, this error does not affect the maintenance plans. I get an error every time I upload now, and when I go check, it has put the current reading in just as I entered it. I am not loosing anything when this happens (except a bit of sanity, but it's almost all gone anyway:-).

Re: Restrict end user to change confirmed operations text in a work order

Hello Nagaraju,

Here is the solution.

Objective:

This code prevents changes in Operation text if the Operation is in confirmed status.

Notes:

  • This prevention error triggers only when such operation is in fully confirmed status
  • This prevention error triggers while Saving the Order.
  • If the confirmation of operation is cancelled (IW45), then the text changes take place.
  • This does not stop you from making text changes in operations of other statuses.
  • This does not stop from adding or deleting operations.

The following code to be used in the include ZXWOCU07 of user-exit IWO10009 .

IF caufvd_imp-iphas <> '0' AND sy-tcode = 'IW32'.

   DATA: vbkz TYPE afvgb-vbkz.

   DATA: i_afvc TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF viauf_afvc,

         wa1 LIKE LINE OF i_afvc.

   SELECT * FROM viauf_afvc INTO TABLE i_afvc WHERE aufnr = caufvd_imp-aufnr.

   DATA: BEGIN OF i_afvg OCCURS 100.

           INCLUDE STRUCTURE afvgd.

   DATA:END OF i_afvg.

   DATA: wa2 LIKE LINE OF i_afvg.

   CALL FUNCTION 'CO_BO_AFVGBT_GET'

     EXPORTING

       aufnr_imp  = caufvd_imp-aufnr

     TABLES

       afvgbt_exp = i_afvg[].

   LOOP AT i_afvc INTO wa1.

     READ TABLE i_afvg INTO wa2 WITH KEY objnr = wa1-objnr.

     IF sy-subrc = 0.

       DATA:i_stat LIKE jstat OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.

       CALL FUNCTION 'STATUS_READ'

         EXPORTING

           objnr       = wa1-objnr

           only_active = 'X'

         TABLES

           status      = i_stat.

       LOOP AT i_stat.

         IF i_stat-stat = 'I0009'.

           IF wa1-ltxa1 <> wa2-ltxa1.

             MESSAGE: 'You can not make changes in texts of confirmed Operations'

           TYPE 'E' DISPLAY LIKE 'I'.

           ENDIF.

         ENDIF.

       ENDLOOP.

     ENDIF.

   ENDLOOP.

ENDIF.

This triggers the following error pop-up, while saving the Order, in case some text changes are found in any one of the confirmed operations of the Order.

error.JPG

Upon hitting the Enter key the popup goes away and user gets access to correct the changes made and Save the Order.

Believe this is the solution you are looking for.  Implement with support of ABAPer, if you are not one.

Good luck

Re: Multiple confirmations IW42

Ashok,

User Exit CONFPM03 (include ZXCOFU03).

Put this code

IF afvgd_imp-rmzhl IS NOT INITIAL.

   DATA: v_opr TYPE char4,

        v_text TYPE char40.

   DATA:i_stat LIKE jstat OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.

   CALL FUNCTION 'STATUS_READ'

     EXPORTING

       objnr       = afvgd_imp-objnr

       only_active = 'X'

     TABLES

       status      = i_stat.

   LOOP AT i_stat.

     IF i_stat-stat = 'I0009'.

       v_opr = afvgd_imp-vornr.

       CONCATENATE v_opr 'Operation already confirmed' INTO v_text SEPARATED BY space.

       MESSAGE: v_text TYPE 'E'.

       CLEAR: v_text, v_opr.

     ENDIF.

   ENDLOOP.

ENDIF.

This should address your issue.

I was trying to arrange an error message while confirming already confirmed operation. The error message was appearing in IW41  as expected and stopping user from confirming already confirmed operation.

The good news is that this code is suppressing the confirmed operations from list of operation in IW42. This is exactly anyone's requirement like yours too, who does not want to confirm operations multiple times. You may test and confirm. I tested it repeatedly.

Best of Luck

KJogeswaraRao

Above Code improvised to make it applicable to only fully confirmed Operations.
