The posting of the costs to the service order could be handled in a number of ways, e.g. direct cost posing to the order, via a confirmation, expense posting, etc.
But as I stated above, this is a business decision - you need to talk to your FICO/MM teams to see how this scenario is covered.
PeteA
Yes - its really annoying that you can't see the system/user statuses in some objects like plans, work centres, etc.
Further to the above comments, you can also display the System Status field in IP16

Hi Ripel,
In your case, I would suggest to create material pricing condition for material / service type material in m\08 transaction.
In this pricing condition, freight charge can be included, which in turn will be reflected in your resource related billing.
Please consult with mm consultant to achieve this.

Hi Keerthan,
As pete explained, it is not mandatory to create assembly but it can give a clear picture how the technical object is structured.
IBAU (assembly) type material can be created which doesn't exists physically, but is a structure.
Now you can create material BOM of this IBAU type material which consist of BOM items which may be physical materials and or further sub assemblies (IBAU). Now this sub assembly also may consist further combination of materials.
Again this main IBAU type material BOM shall be assigned to equipments in construction type field (In equipment master).
By this way we can structure complex technical objects.

Hi Gary,
You have created this PRT as material / equipment?
If you created it as equipment, then did you created it with equipment type PRT?
Dear Pramod,
You can create a counter (measuring point) and assign this counter to the PRT (provided that PRT shall be created as an equipment with PRT category).
Now you have to use a suitable enhancement (BAdI / user exit) to update this counter upon each material inspection.
Then create a task list (either general / equipment). And assign MIC to the tasklist operation & assin inspection point 300 to tasklist header.
Then create a counter based inspection plan which will trigger calibration order on every 1000 count.
Then schedule this maint. Plan & do deadline monitoring in background if required.
This will create calibration order on every 1000 inspectins, release order, which in turn will create inspection lot.
Do result recording for this inspection lot, make ud.
Then TECO the order, then settle the order if any cost associated with it.

Dear Kashimawo,
There are lot of GIS connectors are available, which shall be utilised to connect GIS to SAP.
By this you can link various technical objects like equipments, functional locations etc to GIS.
Additinally you have to activate the GIS functionality.
This will result in an additional tab screen in your equip master / func loc master, which having gis related information.
By this way you can add geographical intelligence to you asstes without activating LAM functionality.
Already many companies uses this GIS integtation to manage their assets, esspecially in IS-utility.
In IS -Utility in addition to asset management, this functinality used for meter reading.
Typical aplication are in power / water / oil& gas transmissions as well as real estate sector also.

Dear Kashimawo,
Since you are not interested in activating LAM, we have to create as a point asset.
There is an alternate solution which is not straight. You have to divide this linear asset to discrete sections depend on GIS coverage.
Let us take the example of linear pipeline of 1000KM long, and each 100 KM there is GIS sensors.
We can create this 1000KM long pipeline as a point asset. Then each section of 100KM shall be created as sub equipment to to this main equipment.
Now the GIS in each 100KM, shall be integrated to the corresponding sub equipment.
So the maintenance activities will be performed on this sub equipment.
This is not the right way but alternatate way to achieve.
But i would personally suggest to activate LAM & Integrate GIS to SAP.
Which is the correct & complete solution.

Dear Vinod
thanks for valueable information..
I have a query here, 2nd point- will it require material no. in equiment master (for linking) to get the counter updated during Material Inspection as we are inspection the material not the equipment?

Hi Dominick
if you any query further, eager to know or close the thread please.
thanks
addition to earlier mentioned- fabricated/tailor made items made in-house, not to be procured and not assigned ERSA category, can be kept under IBAU i.e. housing, structure, apron, gear box body, motor base, frame etc.
dear sir,

I was trying to assign pm sub assemby into pm assemby by system giving error message pm assemby not maintained in plant .As pm assemby we are creating with out assingning to any plant.
Advance thanks for solution

Assemblies are the type of materials. Unless, you extend that to some plant, you can't assign that to main assembly in BoM.
