The SDN Document link which I attached is to create Report using SAP Query Reporting. Not for using SQVI transaction. In SQVI transaction, you can get the basic table link by which SQ01/SQ02/SQ03 will work out.
If you have bit confusion about using that link, you can get in touch with your ABAP Consultants, else ask them to create new custom report.
